New fast-charging park in the business park in Poggersdorf in operation
The operator of fast charging infrastructure SMATRICS EnBW has set up the new location in the immediate vicinity of the A2 highway exit, at the Grafenstein exit in 9130 Poggersdorf. At the business park in Poggersdorf, drivers can charge their electric cars at another public fast-charging park. Those who pay directly at the charging park's card terminals by May 18, 2025 will benefit from a discounted on-site charging price of just 0.49€/kWh.
Hauke Hinrichs, Chief Operating Officer at SMATRICS EnBW, says: “We are setting up new fast-charging locations where our customers have a specific need for range - in retail, in city center locations and in long-distance traffic. We focus on high quality standards for charging.”
The new location has 16 state-of-the-art charging points with an output of up to 400 kW. Depending on the charging capacity of their vehicle, customers can charge electricity for a range of up to 400 kilometers in just 15 minutes at these high-power charging points. This allows them to charge their car quickly during a rest stop on a long-distance journey. SMATRICS EnBW operates all of its fast charging points with 100 percent green electricity, including the one in Poggersdorf.
SMATRICS EnBW is continuing to expand the fast-charging infrastructure in Austria at a rapid pace. The available charging capacity of high-power chargers, i.e. charging points with an output of at least 150 kW, has more than doubled in Carinthia since 2023. With the charging park in Poggersdorf, a total of 40 ultra-fast chargers from SMATRICS EnBW are now available in Carinthia. This is because fast charging is crucial in public spaces in order to meet the demand for charging options. This allows drivers to conveniently integrate charging into their everyday lives - even those without private charging facilities.
With currently more than 600 fast-charging points at over 180 locations throughout Austria, SMATRICS EnBW operates the largest nationwide fast-charging network in Austria. The company is also working with well-known partners from various industries to further expand the network. The fast-charging locations complement the Austria- and Germany-wide EnBW HyperNetwork for drivers.
