SMATRICS EnBW continues its e-charging offensive: Two new charging parks in Braunau and Salzburg in operation

In the federal states of Salzburg and Upper Austria, the number of public charging points in the SMATRICS EnBW fast-charging network more than tripled in 2024. Now, drivers in Braunau and Salzburg can charge their electric cars at two additional fast-charging locations.

SMATRICS EnBW, the operator of the fast-charging infrastructure, has set up new locations at the parking lot of the Innpark business park on Bauhofstraße in Braunau and on Sterneckstraße near Business Boulevard in Salzburg.

“With our fast-charging stations, we are improving the public charging infrastructure and ensuring that charging is just as easy as refueling. Charging options at highly frequented locations, such as shopping malls and near the highway, make charging convenient and accessible for everyone," says Thomas Landsbek, CEO at SMATRICS EnBW.

Customers have eight state-of-the-art charging points with a capacity of up to 400 kW available at each location. Depending on the power input of their vehicle, they can charge electricity for a range of 400 kilometers in just 15 minutes at these so-called high-power charging points.

 

Charging experience suitable for everyday use

SMATRICS EnBW continues to consistently expand the fast-charging infrastructure in Austria at a rapid pace, as can be seen here in Braunau and Salzburg. This is because fast charging is crucial in public spaces.

"A car is stationary for up to 23 hours a day – namely at home and at work. Those who don't have a charging option at home or work depend on public ultra-fast charging. With our high-power charging stations, drivers can conveniently integrate the charging process into their daily routine,” adds Thomas Landsbek, CEO of SMATRICS EnBW.

With currently more than 600 fast charging stations at over 140 locations throughout Austria, SMATRICS EnBW operates the largest nationwide fast charging network in Austria. SMATRICS EnBW also works with well-known partners from various industries to further expand the network.

The fast-charging locations complement the Austria- and Germany-wide EnBW HyperNet for drivers. SMATRICS EnBW operates all of its fast-charging points with 100 percent green electricity.
