Innovation in e-charging: SMATRICS EnBW relies on flexible price labeling
SMATRICS EnBW opened Austria's first charging park with flexible pricing in Spielberg at the beginning of April. This makes e-mobility even more convenient and transparent.
"Widely visible price information for e-charging is simply a must in our digitalized world of mobility. It promotes fair use of the charging infrastructure and strengthens confidence in e-mobility,” emphasizes Thomas Landsbek, CEO at SMATRICS EnBW.
Spielberg goes electric
The newly built charging park in Spielberg with a direct connection to the S36 and in the immediate vicinity of the Redbull Ring offers e-mobilists clear and comprehensible price information even before charging - as is currently the case via the SMATRICS charging app. The signs can be seen from a distance and are comparable to those at conventional gas stations.
The ad hoc price per kilowatt hour can be displayed flexibly on a daily basis. Customers have twelve state-of-the-art charging points with an output of up to 400 kW at their disposal. Depending on the charging capacity of their vehicle, these high-power charging points can charge electricity for a range of 400 kilometers in just 15 minutes.
Next-generation e-charging infrastructure
"Charging parks will be able to meet higher demands in the future. We are already working on combining charging with energy generation and storage using buffer storage at our fast-charging locations. Being able to provide customers with flexible and always up-to-date tariff information is also part of this,” explains Hauke Hinrichs, COO of SMATRICS EnBW.
In Spielberg, the charging stations are already covered by a photovoltaic system: this covers part of the electricity requirements for the charging park directly. By consuming the energy where it is generated, costs can be reduced. In addition, the fast-charging points - like all those in the SMATRICS EnBW charging network - are powered 100% by green electricity.
Additional SMATRICS EnBW charging parks with flexible price information will go into operation this year in Regau, Innermanzing, Altlengbach and Suben.
